Morning Experiments

When the kids arrived, the fan was already humming in the dome, and it quickly became the main attraction. They tested how different things reacted to the breeze—scarves floating like kites, yarn twisting in the air, tape flapping, and hats taking flight. It was fun to watch their curiosity at work as they laughed and experimented.

Down to The Flats

We made our way to The Flats where the sunshine and river called to us. The kids tossed rocks into the water, searched for treasures, and explored the forts the Wildflowers had built the day before. Some climbed trees, others swung from branches, and a few set off to find the biggest leaf they could. It was one of those golden autumn mornings where everything felt calm and bright.

Fireside Fun

Back at Heron Tree Estates, we gathered around a cozy fire. A boy shared his family recipe for potatoes, so of course we had to cook some! I brought out the kettle, and we made hot chocolate to sip while watching the birds nearby. Later, the kids took over the kettle and opened their own tea shop, proudly serving cedar tea and a creative new blend—peanut tea—which the Blue Jays seemed quite interested in.

Playground Adventures

We wrapped up the afternoon at the playground with climbing, running, and laughter echoing across the yard.

Thanks for a great day, Sprouts!
