Cozy Fires and Morning Stories

We started our morning gathered by the fire, getting warm and cozy while I read a few stories. The kids listened, snuggled up close, and added their own little thoughts along the way. It was a peaceful start to a chilly day.

Helping Hands

After storytime, everyone got busy helping take care of our space. Some watered the plants while others filled the bird feeders. A few headed to the mud kitchen, where there was lots of mixing, scooping, and pretend cooking going on. We even managed to pick a few raspberries that were still hanging on, a sweet surprise for mid-October.

Fairies, Leaves, and Lots of Laughing

At the park, the leaf piles were calling. Each child wanted their own, so soon there were piles everywhere. They jumped, buried themselves, rolled, and laughed, soaking up all the fun of fall.

They also made a stop to visit the fairy who lives in the Witch Tree, leaving little greetings and giggles behind.

Exploring the Flats

After all that leaf fun, we walked down to the Flats for a little adventure. The kids went fishing, tried pond dipping, and explored the shoreline. One boy decided to make a tiny bridge for the fairies, such a thoughtful touch.

We paused for lunch and then wandered to a different area of the Flats. The kids noticed a small mouse who had passed away and took a quiet moment to look. Then it was back to exploring, feeding ducks and geese, throwing stones, climbing over rocks, and finding little insects tucked in hidden places.

Heading Home

By the end of the day, everyone was tired, happy, and just the right amount of muddy.

Thanks for a great day, Seedlings!
